Say "KitaabKhaana Zindabaad"
Standing near one
of the book shelves, I whispered to my friend in amazement," Look there is a dessert counter(my mouth has
already started watering), please let us go and have that tempting cheese
cake". On the wall behind the counter we read the cafe's name, "Food
for thought". The cafe 'Food for thought' in Kitaab Khaana in VT is a
double fun when you are a book lover and a foodie too.
The man with the
pony tail, the manager, with all his special efforts to welcome, made us feel
more cozy and comfortable. The ambience is very classy with the old and the contemporary
British architecture. The movie posters on the walls especially the
'Ratatouille' reminds you of the little chef Remy and his culinary skills. With
all this excitement, we were quite eager to get our hands on the menu card. Bemused
by its choices, we couldn't really decide whether to continue with our diet
plans and go with the exotic salads or grab the unhealthy Mumbaiya VadaPav Sandwich or have the famous Parsi dish 'Dhaansaak'or
just sing 'Jhulelaal' with the Sindhi
Koki.
Leaving the guilt
for the desserts, we opted for the Paneer Sandwich with Hummus, an unusual
combination which left us squabbling over who'd have the last piece. The
ingredients of the salads in the menu didn’t make it less interesting. The
Tex-Mex salad was the next in our list. It had the coriander dressing with the
crunchy peanuts which went superb with the corn, black beans, fresh tomatoes
and the greens.
Even though we
were stuffed to the brim we couldn't resist and had made our mind to not leave
the place without committing the sin. Arguing over the blueberry cheese cake and
the chocolate truffle cake for over 5 minutes we happened to see the black
board with the Chocolate Decadence chalked on it. The chocolate cookies with
the chocolate mousse and the chocolate cream with the chocolate flakes kept us
brushing the spoon with the dish over and over again.
The delicacies at
this place did not hurt us too much as it is a reasonably
priced cafe. While leaving the thought for food at 'Food for thought', your
heartbeats will never stop chanting 'Dil
Maange More' , thus demanding your frequent visits.
